Regular Season Round 15: Trefl Sopot - PGE Turow 77-81 OT

Trefl (#15) forced overtime, but falled to PGE Turow (#12) by four points 77-81. The game took place in Sopot. But the guests from Zgorzelec were better at the end. Trefl was ahead by 8 points at the halftime before a 27-17 third quarter run of PGE Turow. They tied the game at the end of regular time. Then they were better in overtime eventually winning that period 9-5. Strangely Trefl outrebounded PGE Turow 45-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Trefl helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Australian-Trinidad and Tobago guard Daniel Dillon (193-86, college: Arizona) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 9 assists. Serbian guard Jovan Novak (187-94) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four PGE Turow players scored in double figures. Guard Piotr Smigielski (190-89) answered with 25 points and 7 rebounds and Sudanese center Ater Majok (208-87, college: Connecticut) added 12 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Trefl. PGE Turow maintains twelfth place with 6-8 record. Trefl lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 13 games lost. PGE Turow's next round opponent will be higher ranked Twarde Pierniki (#4) in Torun and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Trefl will play at home against MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (#9) and hope to win that game.
