Regular Season Round 14: Sokhumi - Batumi 73-74

A very close game took place in Tbilisi between Batumi and Sokhumi. Second ranked Batumi (10-4) got a very close victory on the road over 5th ranked Sokhumi (7-7). Batumi managed to escape with a 1-point win 74-73 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 17-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Batumi looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Ukrainian forward Leonid Stefanishin (199-85) who scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international Akaki Dvalishvili (206-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Batumi's coach Davit Ustiashvili allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. International Levan Patsatsia (198-88, college: Troy) produced 29 points and 9 rebounds and American point guard Phillip Miller (185-91, college: Wiley) added 12 points respectively for the hosts. Batumi keeps a position of league leader. Sokhumi lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with seven games lost.
