Regular Season Round 14: Basket Pila - AZS PGd 70-72

Very expected game when 9th ranked Basket Pila (3-9) was edged at home by fourth ranked AZS PGd (9-5) 72-70 on Saturday. Basket Pila was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Lukasz Jaskiewicz (202-92) who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Aleksander Lebiedzinski (195-93) chipped in 12 points. Four AZS PGd players scored in double figures. Power forward Maciej Adamkiewicz (199-89) produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and forward Marcin Zajac (192-90) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Basket Pila's coach Tomasz Pochylski tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. AZS PGd maintains fourth position in Group A with 9-5 record. Loser Basket Pila dropped to the eleventh place with nine games lost. AZS PGd will face higher ranked AZS UMK Torun (#3) at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Basket Pila will play against the league's leader Kotwica (#1) in Kolobrzeg and hope to win that game.
