Regular Season Round 16: Akropol - Sallen 51-92

Bottom-ranked Akropol (0-17) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 92-51 loss to fifth ranked Sallen (10-5) in Spanga. Sallen outrebounded Akropol 31-19 including 20 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Kadidja Andersson (183-80, college: Minnesota) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American guard Tiffany Brown (165-86, college: Georgia South) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Sallen players scored in double figures. Serbian guard Jovana Ciric (173-83) replied with 16 points and 4 assists and forward Evelyn Troha (184-94) added 12 points in the effort for Akropol. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sallen moved-up to fourth place. Akropol at the other side still closes the standings. Sallen will play against Norrkoping Dolphins (#7) at home in the next round. Akropol will have a break next round.
