Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Alpo VR and 9th ranked Pordenone had identical 7-6 record. But Pordenone was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Verona 66-53 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Alpo VR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Pordenone to just 7 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Pordenone 47-33 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bosnian Marina Dzinic (190-92) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Alice Richter (184-91) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Center Sara Madera (186-0) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Rachele Porcu (165-97) scored 7 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alpo VR (8-6) moved-up to fifth place in A2. Newly promoted Pordenone keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Alpo VR will face Virtus Cagliari (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pordenone will play against Bolzano (#12) and hope to win that game.
