Regular Season Round 14: MKS DG 2 - Cieszyn 74-81

Not a big story in a game in Dabrowa Gornicza where bottom-ranked MKS DG 2 (0-14) was defeated by ninth ranked Cieszyn (7-7) 81-74 on Saturday. Cieszyn made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was forward Lukasz Ochodek (197-82) who scored 25 points and 6 rebounds. Center Tomasz Czajkowski (204-82) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. Four Cieszyn players scored in double figures. Mateusz Szczypinski (193-98) produced 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Jakub Wantuch (195-98) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cieszyn have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place in Group C, which they share with Alba Chorzow and Pogon RS. Loser MKS DG 2 still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Cieszyn will face Zaglebie (#9) in Sosnowiec in the next round. MKS DG 2 will play on the road against AZS PS Gliwice and hopes to get finally their first victory.
