Everything went according to plan in Madrid where ninth ranked Picken Claret (6-7) won against 12th ranked Olimpico 64 (3-10) 79-62 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 49-24 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Picken Claret outrebounded Olimpico 64 38-19 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Picken Claret especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. Esther Saez fired 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Gloria Argente (182-88) chipped in 9 points and 10 rebounds. Picken Claret's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Irene San Roman (177-92) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and Beatriz Parada (179-86) added 12 points respectively for lost side. Newly promoted Picken Claret maintains ninth place in Group B with 6-7 record. Olimpico 64 lost their eighth game in a row. Olimpico 64 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with ten games lost. Picken Claret will face higher ranked UCAM Jairis (#5) in Alcantarilla in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Olimpico 64 will play at home against Almeria (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
