Regular Season Round 13: Kolossos - Aris 76-70

Another exciting game was played in Rodou between eighth ranked Kolossos and 4th placed Aris where host Kolossos (6-7) won against Aris (9-4) 76-70. The hosts were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 28-23 Aris' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 76-70 at the end of the game. Aris was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Christos Saloustros (201-90, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 9 rebounds. Finnish guard Roope Ahonen (186-90, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Okaro White (206-92, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Jerel McNeal (191-87, college: Marquette) added 20 points in the effort for Aris. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kolossos moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Koroivos. Aris at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Kolossos will play against league's second-placed Olympiacos in Athens in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aris will play on the road against the league's leader Panathinaikos in Athens and hopes to get back on the winning track.
