Regular Season Round 12: Boulazac - St Chamond 80-75
Date: January 9, 2016
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Boulazac Basket and 11th ranked Saint Chamond had identical 5-6 record. This time Boulazac Basket used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Saint Chamond 80-75 on Saturday night. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Saint Chamond was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 27-20 charge of Boulazac Basket, which allowed them to win the game. Saint Chamond was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American power forward Franklin Hassell (203-88, college: ODU, agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds. Jerome Sanchez (197-90) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Matthieu Guichard (188-88) replied with 13 points and Cuban power forward Grismay Paumier (203-88) added 14 points in the effort for Saint Chamond. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Saint Chamond's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Despite that victory Boulazac Basket went down to sixth position due to points difference, which they share with Provence Basket and Poitiers. Saint Chamond lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with seven games lost. Boulazac Basket will face Charleville-Mezieres (#11) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Saint Chamond will play against Saint-Quentin and hope to win that game.
