Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Minas (7-7) and Brasilia (5-5), which took place in Brasilia. Higher ranked Minas lost to twelfth ranked Brasilia in a road game 59-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Minas. Minas was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Brasilia forced 21 Minas turnovers and outrebounded them 45-30 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international Guilherme Giovannoni (203-80) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Center Ronald Reis (211-91) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Benzor Simmons (196-88, college: Tenn-Martin) who recorded 14 points and 7 rebounds and Puerto Rican guard Isaac Sosa Carrion (190-90, college: Canisius) added 13 points respectively. Minas' coach Cristiano Carvalho rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion moved-up to ninth place. Minas at the other side keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Brasilia's next round opponent will be Caxias do Sul (#14) at home which should be theoretically an easy game.
