There was no surprise in Lugo where 11th ranked Oviedo (2-11) was defeated by seventh ranked Maquinaria Ensino (7-6) 79-73 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The game without a history. Maquinaria Ensino led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Forward Raquel Asensio (178-83) fired 27 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Center Marta Lema (186-92) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Carolina Ramos (-93) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and center Marina Vilella (185-92) added 13 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Four Oviedo players scored in double figures. Oviedo's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Maquinaria Ensino. They maintain seventh place in Group A with 7-6 record, which they share with Arxil Pontev. Loser Oviedo dropped to the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Maquinaria Ensino will face ADBA (#14) in Aviles in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Oviedo will play on the road against Adareva in SC Laguna and hope to win that game.
