No shocking result in a game in Charnay-les-Macon where eighth ranked Montbrison (4-6) defeated 11th ranked Charnay (2-8) 60-52. Montbrison made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Strangely Charnay outrebounded Montbrison 43-28 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Lucie Carlier (187-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points and 5 rebounds. The former international guard Emilie Duvivier (165-84) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Candace Williams (184-88, college: New Hampshire) answered with 13 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Johanna Cortinovis (190-86) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Charnay. Montbrison moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Dunkerque. Charnay lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with eight games lost. Montbrison will play against Avenir (#10) in Chartres in the next round. Charnay will play on the road against the league's second-placed Aulnoye and will have a slim chance for a victory.
