Regular Season Round 15: Girona - Cadi La Seu 68-69

The most exciting game of round 15 in the LFB took place in Girona. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd placed Argon Uni Girona (10-5) to sixth ranked Cadi La Seu (9-6) 69-68 on Sunday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Argon Uni Girona won third quarter 19-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for international center Laura Gil (190-92, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. The former international forward Tamara Abalde (190-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) helped adding 13 points. Four Cadi La Seu players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American-FYR Macedonian Chrissy Givens (180-85, college: Middle Tenn.St.) with 16 points and 7 assists and Serbian forward Adrijana Knezevic (183-87, agency: Regeneracom Sports) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Cadi La Seu have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Gernika. Defending champion Argon Uni Girona keeps the third position with five games lost. They share it with Mann Filter. Cadi La Seu is looking forward to face league's second-placed Conquero in Huelva in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Argon Uni Girona will play on the road against Campus Promete in Logrono and is hoping to win this game.
