Regular Season Round 13: Vigren - Naron 86-71

There was a minor upset in Zamora where 4th placed Naron (6-8) was defeated by seventh ranked Vigren (5-3) 86-71 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 15 points. Vigren forced 19 Naron turnovers. Forward Rodrigo Cid Garcia (196-96) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Reed Mells (180-93, college: Truman St.) chipped in 24 points and 5 assists. Vigren's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Dylan Sparkman (208-93, college: Ill.-Springfield, agency: Dynamics Global Management) produced 21 points and 8 rebounds and British-American forward Steve Forbes (206-91, college: IPFW) added 11 points and 15 rebounds respectively for lost side. Vigren moved-up to fifth place in Group A-B, which they share with Leon and Chantada. Loser Naron keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Vigren will face Chantada (#7) on the road in the next round. Naron will play against San Juan in San Juan del Puerto and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
