Regular Season Round 14: Gimbasket WRC - Gniezno 80-42

The game between closely ranked teams ended with bottom-ranked Gniezno's (0-14) road loss to eleventh ranked Gimbasket WRC (2-12) 42-80 on Sunday. Gimbasket WRC dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Gniezno's 20. Gimbasket WRC forced 20 Gniezno turnovers and outrebounded them 41-23 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Michal Kamberski (188-96) who scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Rafal Malitka (205-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Michal Kafarski (192-92) produced 13 points and 4 assists and forward Dariusz Dobrzycki (193-84) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gimbasket WRC maintains eleventh position in Group D with 2-12 record. Newly promoted Gniezno still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Gimbasket WRC will face higher ranked Miedzychod (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Gniezno will play against Rawia (#4) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
