Regular Season Round 20: Eidsvoll - Tromso 67-107
Date: January 10, 2016
Bottom-ranked Eidsvoll is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 12th consecutive match to third ranked Tromso (9-3) 107-67. The game without a history. Tromso led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Eidsvoll's 38 and made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Tromso forced 19 Eidsvoll turnovers and outrebounded them 57-39 including a 38-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Tromso brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Bulgarian guard Kiril Raykov (192-87) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 8 rebounds and American center Casiem Drummond (208-88, college: Georgetown, KY) who added 10 points and 21 rebounds during the contest. Five Tromso players scored in double figures. Tromso's coach Kenneth Webb felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward John Groover (194) responded with 30 points and 7 assists and his fellow American import power forward James Johnson (201-91, college: CS Fullerton) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Tromso moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Eidsvoll still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Tromso will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Eidsvoll's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Oslo to the arena Ammerud Bskt.
