Regular Season Round 14: Shmoolky W-wa - Gimbasket PRZM 93-97

Rather expected game in Warszawa where 6th ranked Shmoolky W-wa (7-7) was defeated by third ranked Gimbasket PRZM (10-4) 97-93 on Sunday. Strangely Shmoolky W-wa outrebounded Gimbasket PRZM 41-28 including a 23-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. The best player for the winners was Grzegorz Plocica (190-80) who scored 21 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Forward Jakub Patoka (200-94) chipped in 22 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Point guard Wiktor Nalecz (181-94) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Mikolaj Motel (192-94) added 24 points respectively for the hosts. Four Gimbasket PRZM and five Shmoolky W-wa players scored in double figures. Shmoolky W-wa's coach Tomasz Wakulski tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gimbasket PRZM moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with AZS UMCS. Newly promoted Shmoolky W-wa keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Gimbasket PRZM will face Rosa III Radom (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shmoolky W-wa will play against LKS Lodz (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
