Regular Season Round 29: Jiangsu D. - Shanghai S. 108-97

Date: January 10, 2016
An interesting game took place in Nanjing where higher ranked Shanghai Sharks (14-15) were upset on the court of fourteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (12-17) 108-97. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shanghai Sharks. The game was mostly controlled by Jiangsu Dragons. Shanghai Sharks was better in fourth quarter 30-29. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Shanghai Sharks outrebounded Jiangsu Dragons 47-30 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) nailed 39 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds for the winning side and the former international point guard XueFeng Hu (185-80) accounted for 16 points and 9 assists. Five Jiangsu Dragons players scored in double figures. American point guard A.J. Price (188-86, college: Connecticut) came up with 36 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international center ZhaoXu Zhang (221-87, college: California) added 16 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks respectively for Shanghai Sharks in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Qingdao E. Shanghai Sharks at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 15 games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will play against Jiangsu TX (#14) at home in the next round. Shanghai Sharks will play against the league's second-placed Xinjiang Flying Tige (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
