Regular Season Round 15: Estudiantes - Gipuzkoa 85-90

Bottom-ranked Gipuzkoa managed to get the second consecutive victory on Sunday night. This time they won against seventeenth-ranked Movil Estudiantes in Madrid 90-85. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Movil Estudiantes won third quarter 26-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Gipuzkoa especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. It was a good game for American forward Marcus Landry (201-85, college: Wisconsin) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Pedro Llompart (185-82) contributed with 14 points and 8 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. The former international forward Nacho Martin (203-83) answered with 21 points and 5 rebounds and Argentinian point guard Nicolas Laprovittola (193-90) added 15 points and 7 assists in the effort for Movil Estudiantes. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Gipuzkoa (3-12) moved-up to seventeenth place, which they share with Estudiantes. Gipuzkoa is looking forward to face higher ranked Unicaja Malaga (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Movil Estudiantes will play against UCAM Murcia (#13) and is hoping to win this game.
