Regular Season Round 14: Olesnica - Nowa Sol 64-83

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Nowa Sol (9-5) outleveled on the road 10th ranked Olesnica (4-10) 83-64 on Sunday. Nowa Sol dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Olesnica's 38. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Marcel Ponitka (188-97, college: High School) who scored 23 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Jakub Der (191-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Four Nowa Sol players scored in double figures. Kacper Kuta (191-94) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and center Wojciech Suprun (203-82) added 14 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nowa Sol have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Nowa Sol went down to fifth position (Group D) due to points difference. Olesnica lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with ten games lost. Nowa Sol will face league's second-placed Gornik in Walbrzych in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Olesnica will play at home against the league's leader Polonia Leszno (#1) and hope to win that game.
