Regular Season Round 12: Landes - Arras 73-60

Very expected game in Mont de Marsan where 13th ranked Arras (1-10) was defeated by sixth ranked Basket Landes (7-4) 73-60. It looked good early as Arras took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Basket Landes had a 21-10 second period charge getting the lead and Arras was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 60-73. Basket Landes forced 21 Arras turnovers. It was a good game for Julie Barennes (183-86) who led her team to a victory with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Croatian center Iva Sliskovic (190-84, college: S.Carolina) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Basket Landes players scored in double figures. American swingman Brooque Williams (175-89, college: California, PA, agency: Two Points) replied with 26 points and 7 rebounds and forward Jenny Fouasseau (179-92) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Arras. Basket Landes moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Charleville-Mez. Arras lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. Basket Landes' next round opponent will be Mondeville (#8) at home. Arras will play against the league's second-placed Bourges (#2) and hope to win that game.
