The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked GECR Indalo (16-10) in Parana on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by ninth ranked Sionista (11-15) 80-74. GECR Indalo was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 8-point lead after three quarters before a 30-16 charge of Sionista, which allowed them to win the game. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. American center Dwayne Jones (211-83, college: St.Joseph's) had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 18 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Charlie Westbrook (193-89, college: S.Dakota) chipped in 23 points (made all of his seven free throws) during the contest. Sionista's coach Sebastian Svetliza used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side international forward Leonardo Mainoldi (203-85) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and the former international Carlos Schattmann (193-87) scored 20 points. Four Sionista and five GECR Indalo players scored in double figures. Sionista maintains ninth position with 11-15 record. GECR Indalo lost fifth consecutive game. They still keep top place with ten games lost. Sionista are looking forward to face higher ranked CASLA (#3) in Almagra in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. GECR Indalo will play on the road against the league's second-placed Libertad Sunchales having rather not much hope for a victory.
