Regular Season Round 34: Quimsa - Atenas 69-66

Date: January 11, 2016
Tenth-ranked Atenas (8-20) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Quimsa (15-12) in Santiado Estero. Quimsa managed to secure only three-point victory 69-66. However their fans expected much easier game. Atenas was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 17-10 third quarter run of Quimsa. 25 personal fouls committed by Atenas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard David Jackson (195-82, college: Penn St.) who helped to win the game recording 12 points. Point guard Lucas Perez (185-87) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four Quimsa players scored in double figures. The former international Diego Lo Grippo (198-78) replied with 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international point guard Bruno Labaque (178-77, agency: Interperformances) added 12 points and 5 assists in the effort for Atenas. Defending champion maintains fourth position with 15-12 record. Atenas at the other side keeps the tenth place with 20 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
