Universo/Vitoria (#12) forced the game against Sao Jose/Vinac (#10) into an overtime, but lost by six points 81-87. The hosts were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 23-22 run, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 18-12. Five Universo/Vitoria players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Sao Jose/Vinac maintains tenth position with 6-8 record. Universo/Vitoria lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh place with ten games lost. Sao Jose/Vinac's next round opponent will be higher ranked SKY/Basquete (#5) in Aldeota and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Universo/Vitoria will play on the road against Mogi (#4) in Mogi das Cruzes and hope to win that game.
