Date: January 12, 2016
Round 3 most important game was a victory of Al Moutahed over Byblos 105-100 on Tuesday night. Byblos trailed by 17 points at halftime and as many as 19 after three quarters before a 35-21 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 100-105 at the end of the game. It was a good game for the former international forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (on 16-of-21 shooting from the field). American guard Michael Taylor (186-86, college: Iowa St.) contributed with 40 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American-Ukrainian guard Steven Burtt (189-84, college: Iona) answered with 28 points and 5 assists and naturalized American point guard Ali Barada (186-88, college: Northwood) added 23 points in the effort for Byblos. Four Byblos players scored in double figures. Al Moutahed are looking forward to face Louaize (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Byblos will play against Sagesse (#7) in Beirut and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
