Regular Season Round 12: Le Portel - St Chamond 86-69

Very expected game when 11th ranked Saint Chamond (5-7) lost on the road to fourth ranked Le Portel (7-5) 86-69 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Le Portel. Saint Chamond was better in third quarter 22-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Le Portel outrebounded Saint Chamond 42-17 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American Myles McKay (192-86, college: Wisc.-Whitewater) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 5 rebounds. The other American import center Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) contributed with 6 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. McKay is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Le Portel players scored in double figures. Power forward Jean-Stephane Rinna (198-83) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds and Lithuanian swingman Mantas Ruikis (196-85) added 19 points in the effort for Saint Chamond. Saint Chamond's coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Le Portel maintains fourth position with 7-5 record. Saint Chamond lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with seven games lost. Le Portel will face Souffelweyersheim (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Saint Chamond will play against Saint-Quentin and hope to win that game.
