Very predictable result when ninth ranked Brasilia (6-5) defeated at home 14th ranked Caxias do Sul (4-11) 90-79. Caxias do Sul was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 54-37 second half run of Brasilia. They shot 61.4 percent from the field. They also forced 21 Caxias do Sul turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Brasilia players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Quite impressive performance for international Guilherme Giovannoni (203-80) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. International point guard Deryk Ramos (185-94) contributed with 22 points and 7 assists for the winners. Four Brasilia players scored in double figures. Caxias do Sul's coach Rodrigo Barbosa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains ninth position with 6-5 record. Caxias do Sul at the other side keeps the fourteenth place with 11 games lost. Brasilia's next round opponent will be higher ranked Pinheiros (#6) in Sao Paolo and it may be quite challenging game. Caxias do Sul will play on the road against Minas (#8) in Belo Horizonte and hope to win that game.
