Regular Season Round 12: DCU Saints - Killester 61-84

Date: January 13, 2016
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Dublin: Killester (#3) and DCU Saints (#8). DCU Saints were smashed at home by 23 points 61-84 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Killester dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to DCU Saints' 44. Killester had a 35-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Killester brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for naturalized American forward Jermaine Turner (195-74, college: Dowling) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 18 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. International guard Paul Dick (193-91, college: Franklin Pierce, agency: Duran International) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Five Killester players scored in double figures. American forward Duane Johnson (201-91, college: E.Stroudsburg) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds and international center Martins Provizors (202-87) added 19 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for DCU Saints. Killester maintains third position with 8-4 record having just one point less than leader Templeogue. DCU Saints at the other side keep the eighth place with nine games lost. Killester will play against Belfast Star (#5) at home in the next round. DCU Saints' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Dublin to the arena Eanna.
