Regular Season Round 9: Gigantes - Panteras 80-79

Bottom-ranked Gigantes managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of five consecutive losses. This time they edged fifth-ranked Panteras in Puerto Ordaz 80-79. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Panteras. Panteras were ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 28-23 charge of Gigantes, which allowed them to win the game. Panteras were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international forward Axiers Sucre (199-78) who saved his team from a defeat with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Keyron Sheard (188-86, college: Chattanooga, agency: Haylett Sports) contributed with 12 points and 6 assists for the winners. Gigantes' coach Carl Herrera used entire bench in such tough game.
