Regular Season Round 30: TianJin S. - DongGuan L. 128-118

We should mention about the upset which took place in Tianjin, where higher ranked DongGuan Leopards (15-15) lost to nineteenth ranked TianJin Steel (6-24) in a road game 118-128. The game was mostly controlled by TianJin Steel. DongGuan Leopards was better in third quarter 40-32. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TianJin Steel made 19-of-21 charity shots (90.5 percent) during the game. TianJin Steel outrebounded DongGuan Leopards 54-43 including 16 on the offensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by DongGuan Leopards helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Jordan Crawford (193-88, college: Xavier) notched 43 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the other American import forward Jason Maxiell (201-83, college: Cincinnati) supported him with 20 points and 18 rebounds. Even 34 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 6 assists by American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) did not help to save the game for DongGuan Leopards. The former international forward QuAn Gu (202-92) added 24 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. DongGuan Leopards' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. TianJin Steel maintains nineteenth position with 6-24 record. DongGuan Leopards at the other side keep the ninth place with 15 games lost. TianJin Steel's next round opponent will be higher ranked Bayi Rockets (#17) in Ningbo and it may be quite challenging game.
