Regular Season Round 30: Qingdao E. - Zhejiang CB 104-92

An interesting game took place in Qingdao, where higher ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (17-13) lost to thirteenth ranked Qingdao Eagles (13-17) in a road game 92-104 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Qingdao Eagles. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank was better in fourth quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Qingdao Eagles made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Qingdao Eagles made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American center Alan Williams (203-93, college: UCSB) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 26 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks. Swingman Chengyu Zhang (193-89) chipped in 23 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma) who recorded 29 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) added 19 points and 15 rebounds respectively. Five Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank players scored in double figures. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Qingdao Eagles moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Jiangsu D. Loser Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. Qingdao Eagles will face league's second-placed Sichuan BW at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
