Very predictable result when fifth ranked Gdynia (10-5) beat at home 11th ranked MUKS Poznan (3-12) 62-47 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 62-47. Gdynia dominated on the defensive end, holding MUKS Poznan to just 6 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded MUKS Poznan 47-31 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American center Paris Johnson (193-89, college: San Diego St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Montenegrin guard Jelena Skerovic (176-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) helped adding 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gdynia maintains fifth place with 10-5 record. MUKS Poznan lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Sosnowiec. Gdynia will meet at home AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (#9) in the next round. MUKS Poznan will play against Sosnowiec and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
