Regular Season Round 30: Beijing Ducks - Bayi R. 91-77

Not a big story in a game when 17th ranked Bayi Rockets (7-23) were defeated on the road by seventh ranked Beijing Ducks (20-10) 91-77 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Beijing Ducks. Bayi Rockets was better in second period 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Beijing Ducks dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Bayi Rockets' 36. They outrebounded Bayi Rockets 47-33 including 34 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds. The former international forward Xiaochuan Zhai (205-93) chipped in 23 points and 8 rebounds. Four Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center ZhongHao Xu (212-90) who recorded 13 points and 9 rebounds and center Hao Fu (206-98) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains seventh position with 20-10 record. Bayi Rockets lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth place with 23 games lost. Beijing Ducks' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Beijing to the arena North Control.
