Regular Season Round 15: Wildcats - Kings 95-68
Date: January 15, 2016
Leader Perth Wildcats recorded the thirteenth victory. This time they crushed 8th ranked Kings (5-16) 95-68. It looked good early as Kings took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Perth Wildcats had a 26-19 second period charge getting the lead and Kings were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-95. Perth Wildcats made 29-of-34 charity shots (85.3 percent) during the game. Kings were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Casey Prather (196-91, college: Florida) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Jermaine Beal (191-87, college: Vanderbilt) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Forward Tom Garlepp (203-86, college: UCSB) answered with 30 points and 5 rebounds and American swingman Josh Childress (203-83, college: Stanford) added 7 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Kings. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Perth Wildcats went down to third position due to points difference. Kings at the other side stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. Perth Wildcats will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kings will play on the road against Adelaide 36ers (#4) in Findon and hope to get back on the winning track.
