There was a small surprise in Riga where sixth ranked Livani (6-9) beat one of their biggest challengers Pardaguava (8-6) 83-78 on Friday. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 20-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Pardaguava was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Eduards Viksna (198-93) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Eduards Kikuts (193-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Karlis Vecens (185-95) produced 19 points and 9 assists and power forward Daniels Minajevs (205-95) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Pardaguava's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Livani moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Buki/BJSS. Loser Pardaguava keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Livani will face BS Ogre (#6) at home in the next round. Pardaguava's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Riga DSN.
