Regular Season Round 16: AZS Koszalin - Stelmet ZG 62-78

Leader Stelmet delivered the fourteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 8th ranked AZS Koszalin (8-9) 78-62. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Stelmet's pressure prevailed and they won that period 24-14 extending their advantage to 16 points. Stelmet outrebounded AZS Koszalin 40-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international swingman Przemyslaw Zamojski (193-86, college: Independence CC) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 8 rebounds and international center Adam Hrycaniuk (206-84, college: Cincinnati) who added 8 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Stelmet players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Ra'shad James (188-90, college: Kaiser) responded with 17 points and forward Artur Mielczarek (196-83) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Stelmet (14-2) have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. AZS Koszalin lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with nine games lost. They share the position with MKS DG. Stelmet will meet at home Slask (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. AZS Koszalin will play against Trefl (#15) in Sopot and hope to secure a win.
