No shocking result in a game when second ranked Mollet (11-2) defeated at home 9th ranked Sant Nicolau (4-10) 90-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Mollet. Sant Nicolau was better in third quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Sant Nicolau was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was swingman Marc Torres (195-86) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Albert Ferrer (180-82) chipped in 16 points. Four Mollet players scored in double figures. Guard Guim Exposito (197-94) produced 23 points and 5 rebounds and forward Marc Sobrepera (201-86) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Mollet maintains second position in Group C-A with 11-2 record having four points less than leader L'Hospitalet. Sant Nicolau lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with ten games lost. Mollet will face JAC Sants (#6) in Barcelona in the next round. Sant Nicolau will play at home against Masnou and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
