A very interesting game took place in Santoago de Comp. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 12th ranked Blusens Monbus (6-10) to fifteenth ranked CB Canarias (6-10) 84-82 in the fight for the eleventh place. It looked good early as Blusens Monbus took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then CB Canarias had a 31-17 second period charge getting the lead and Blusens Monbus was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 82-84. CB Canarias made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for guard Jose Salvador Arco (196-84, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording 20 points. American-Irish forward Ian O'Leary (201-86, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American-Irish guard Donnie McGrath (193-84, college: Providence) replied with 15 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American-Italian forward Angelo Caloiaro (205-89, college: USF, agency: Pensack Sports) added 17 points and 5 steals in the effort for Blusens Monbus. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. CB Canarias moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Blusens Monbus. CB Canarias' next round opponent will be higher ranked UCAM Murcia (#10) at home and it may be quite challenging game.
