Regular Season Round 14: Aros Leon - RC Celta 65-70

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Real Celta Vigo (4-10) won against on the road higher ranked Aros Leon (9-5) 70-65 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 19-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Aros Leon outrebounded Real Celta Vigo 40-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. American-Nigerian guard Sarah Ogoke (175-90, college: So.Poly State) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Cristina Salinas (162-93) contributed with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Victoria Dunlap (185-89, college: Kentucky) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Itsaso Conde (185-96) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Aros Leon. Aros Leon's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Real Celta Vigo moved-up to tenth place in Group A, which they share with Badajoz and Aragon. Loser Aros Leon dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Real Celta Vigo will face Aragon (#10) in Zaragoza in the next round. Aros Leon will play on the road against Arxil Pontevedra (#8) and hope to win that game.
