Regular Season Round 15: La Spezia - Bologna 75-48

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in La Spezia. Leader La Spezia faced 4th placed Bologna. Host La Spezia (15-0) smashed guests from Bologna (9-6) 75-48. The game without a history. La Spezia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bologna to just 5 points in second quarter. La Spezia made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for Latvian power forward Lauma Reke (185-86, college: St.Peter's) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. Forward Marta Aldrighetti (178-97) accounted for 13 points for the winning side. Power forward Chiara Cadoni (182-94) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and guard Chiara Mini (165-86) added 11 points and 4 steals respectively for Bologna in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted La Spezia maintains first place in A2 with 15-0 record. Bologna at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. La Spezia's next round opponent will be Civitanova (#10) in Civitanova Marche and are hoping to win another game. Bologna will play at home against Viterbo (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
