No shocking result in a game when third ranked Saint Vallier (12-5) defeated at home 9th ranked La Rochelle (8-9) 98-83 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Saint Vallier shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 70.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was Jonathan Hoyaux (196-88) who scored 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American swingman Rasheed Wright (196-80, college: ODU) chipped in 28 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Jahsha Bluntt (198-84, college: Delaware St., agency: Octagon Europe) produced 24 points and 5 rebounds and guard Faycal Sahraoui (186-79) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. La Rochelle's coach Gregory Thielin tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Saint Vallier have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain third place with 12-5 record having just two points less than leader Blois, which they share with Lourdes. La Rochelle lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost. Saint Vallier will face Lourdes-Tarbes (#4) at home in the next round.
