The game in Kildare was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Meteors (7-5) played at the court of 7th ranked Liffey Celtics (3-8). Meteors did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 58-40 on Saturday. American guard Meghan McGuinness (178, college: Niagara) stepped up and scored 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import forward Emily Leer (188-92, college: Villanova) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American-British forward Meagan Hoffman (183-82, college: Adams St.) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Aine O'Connor scored 4 points and 7 rebounds. Meteors maintains fifth place with 7-5 record. Liffey Celtics lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. Meteors will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Liffey Celtics will play against TM Hotel Cork (#3) and hope to secure a win.
