No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Gunma (13-14) edged on the road 11th ranked Saitama Broncos (3-22) 78-75 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 16-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Gunma looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Mike St.John (203-84, college: La Salle, agency: Global Sports Plaza) helped adding 12 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. St.John is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American power forward Evan Harris (206-86, college: Harvard, agency: I.D.S. Law) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Janya Masumoto (183-88) scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Saitama Broncos players scored in double figures. Gunma moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Yokohama BC. Saitama Broncos lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 22 games lost. Gunma will have a break next round. Saitama Broncos will play again at home against Gunma (#7) and hope to win that game.
