Regular Season Round 14: Leganes - Andratx 101-59

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Andratx (3-11) was outleveled on the road by seventh ranked Leganes (8-6) 101-59 on Saturday. The game without a history. Leganes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Andratx's 26. Leganes forced 20 Andratx turnovers and outrebounded them 55-20 including a 27-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Andratx's players. Celia Menendez (186-90, agency: Josep and Nicolas) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Estela Rubio (172-86) contributed with 22 points and 5 steals for the winners. Four Leganes players scored in double figures. Leganes' coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Helena Macein (176-89) replied with 16 points and guard Esther Morillo (169-79) added 14 points in the effort for Andratx. Leganes maintains seventh position in Group B with 8-6 record. Andratx lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth place with 11 games lost. Leganes will face Barcelona (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Andratx will play against the league's leader Alcobendas and will have a slim chance for a victory.
