Regular Season Round 15: Salerno - Stabia 42-66

Very expected game when 14th ranked Salerno (2-13) was rolled over at home by eighth ranked Castellammare (8-7) 66-42 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Castellammare. Salerno was better in third quarter 11-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Salerno 44-29 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Maria Gallo (168-92) who scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Raffaella Potolicchio (169-90) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Lucrezia Costa (182-97) who recorded 23 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Luisa Rauti (169-98) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Salerno's coach Pietro Di Capua gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Castellammare moved-up to sixth place in A2. Loser Salerno keeps the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Castellammare will face league's second-placed Ferrara at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Salerno will play against Viareggio (#11) and hope to win that game.
