Very expected game when 10th ranked Olesnica (4-11) was smashed at home by leader Polonia Leszno (14-0) 78-56 on Saturday. Polonia Leszno outrebounded Olesnica 51-30 including a 38-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for guard Nikodem Sirijatowicz (188-94) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Stanferd Sanny (185-94) contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Polonia Leszno players scored in double figures. Polonia Leszno's coach Lukasz Grudniewski felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Center Wojciech Suprun (203-82) answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Grzegorz Kaczmarek (193-83) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Olesnica. The victory was the fourteenth consecutive win for Polonia Leszno. They maintain first place in Group D with 14-0 record. Olesnica lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. Polonia Leszno will face AZS PP (#8) in Poznan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Olesnica will play at home against the league's second-placed Gornik and hope to win that game.
