Regular Season Round 14: San Juan - Sevilla II 73-68

Not a big story in a game in San Juan del Puerto where bottom-ranked Sevilla II (0-3) was defeated by third ranked San Juan (7-3) 73-68 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-68. The best player for the winners was guard Antonio Gomez (193-79) who scored 18 points and 7 assists. Naturalized Ukrainian center Volodymyr Orlov (208-95) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Four San Juan players scored in double figures. Croatian Leo Cizmic (206-98) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds and forward Alejandro Rodriguez (200-98) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. San Juan have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group D-West, which they share with Linense. Loser Sevilla II still closes the standings with three games lost. San Juan will face league's leader Plasencia on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
