Regular Season Round 17: Monaco - Limoges 79-67

Date: January 16, 2016
There was no surprise when 11th ranked Limoges CSP Elite (8-9) was defeated on the road by third ranked Monaco (13-4) 79-67 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Monaco. Limoges CSP Elite was better in fourth quarter 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (200-84, college: Hofstra) who scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. Naturalized Polish Aaron Cel (203-87) chipped in 17 points. American swingman Mark Payne (203-88, college: Cal-Davis) produced 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Leo Westermann (196-92, agency: Beo Basket) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Monaco have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Gravelines. Defending champion Limoges CSP Elite keeps the eleventh place with nine games lost. Monaco will face JSF Nanterre (#5) on the road in the next round. Limoges CSP Elite will play against STB Le Havre (#18) and hope to win that game.
