Regular Season Round 15: AZS PP - Otmuchow 95-70

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked AZS PP's (6-8) home victory over 9th ranked Otmuchow (5-10) in Poznan 95-70 on Saturday. AZS PP looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Otmuchow's players. It was a good game for Michal Wielechowski (198-94) who led his team to a victory with 25 points. Wojciech Pawelczyk (196-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. AZS PP's coach Waldemar Mendel felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Krzysztof Wilk (201-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds and swingman Patryk Garwol (188-95) added 13 points in the effort for Otmuchow. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. AZS PP maintains eighth place in Group D with 6-8 record. Newly promoted Otmuchow keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. AZS PP will face league's leader Polonia Leszno on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Otmuchow will play against Sudety (#6) and hope to win that game.
