Regular Season Round 14: Estudiantes B - Albacete 78-66

Round 14 in EBA means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Madrid where host Estudiantes B (4-7) beat league's leader Albacete (8-3) 78-66 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 12 points at the halftime before their 52-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Estudiantes B made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Albacete turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Sergio Sanchez (189-81) who scored 18 points. Forward Alberto Maura (198-98) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Estudiantes B's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Jose Luis Otero (203-89) produced 12 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Marcel Mosley (183, college: Ark.-Pine Bluff) added 11 points and 6 steals respectively for the guests. Four Albacete players scored in double figures. Estudiantes B moved-up to ninth place in Group B, which they share with 3 other teams. Albacete at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with Alcazar. They were replaced at the leadership position by L'Hospitalet. Albacete will play next round against Villarrobledo trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Estudiantes B will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Tenerife Naut. in Santa Cruz.
